Narrow Road Farm is a small-scale, market farm. We would like to enhance our current operation to help meet the growing needs of our community.
About the Business
Narrow Road Farm is a small-scale market farm located in Auburn, Indiana. Founded in the tenets of regenerative agriculture, our farm provides the surrounding community a diverse variety of high-quality produce grown on less than ten acres. We use techniques that build the soil and produce a nutrient-dense ingredient for our members to enjoy. By joining our community, members will have access to our online market every week of the season. We also offer several pickup locations throughout the Fort Wayne area to make the fresh food harvested from our farm both convenient and accessible.
The farm was founded by Tadd Petersen, who has over 10 years of experience in small-scale farming. Prior to this project, he spent over seven years developing, managing and directing the operations of Seminary Hill Farm which is located in the Greater Columbus Ohio area. Working as a consultant, he has also developed numerous community and institutionally based sustainable agriculture developments and farm-to-table initiatives. Tadd would like to take the knowledge and experience he has gained and create a successful business model for Narrow Road Farm.
This farm is truly a passion project because it is located in the area where our small farm team grew up. Having traveled and lived throughout the Midwest, we decided to return to our hometown and create a real way to give back to the community. We are working to create a place where people can gather around local food and gain an honest understanding of what varieties can be grown within our region.

system by adding 600 feet of water lines and 7 new frost-free hydrants
Build a new walk-in cooler to
help meet the growing demands of our online market
By completing the high tunnels, we will expand
our production model and be able to grow all four seasons. We would
be one of the few farms within the region that will be able to provide
high-quality ingredients outside of the typical growing season and believe this
will help us capture a greater market. The finished high tunnels will also help
us earn revenue during the winter months and stabilize our gross net.
Expanding our irrigation system will make watering on the farm less labor
intensive and allow members of our small team more time to focus on tasks that
will be more lucrative for the farm. Adding a new walk-in cooler will
meet the needs of our growing production model and will ensure that product is
not being degraded or going to waste. By raising the capital to help fund
these enhancements to our current infrastructure, we are confident we will be
able to scale and meet the growing demand for local food within our
