Ines and Luis have been working trading and growing flowers for the past 25 years. The mother and son team are committed to the community and environment. They grow a large variety of flowers including but not limited to roses, spray roses and garden roses.
We believe sustainability and profitability go together, you cannot have one without the other. It is the way of the future and we have embraced it. That is why our focus is on sustainably grown roses. We have combined that with service and quality making it these to three main pillars of our business.
We have a series of programs in sustainability that can be classified into two categories: environment and community. We believe these two pillars are essential for the success of any business. We understand we are part of a local and global ecosystem with which, we must coexist and thrive together.
Our environmental programs focus on water, CO2 sequestration and flora & fauna conservation. We have applied several recycling and conservation techniques when related to water such as drip irrigation, wet-land filtration, post-harvest water recycling and rain water collection. We also have a 12-hectare compensated forest that not only helps us compensate our emissions but protect the local flora and fauna in the region.
We want to be the first carbon neutral flower farm in the world, we will be growing our carbon capture forest and improving some of the practices with the investment. We will be working on that certification starting in late 2020. Furthermore, we will also be getting Global GAP, Flor Verde and Rainforest Alliance certifications in Q4 of 2020.
