SmartOysters - designed for the next generation of Sustainable Aquaculture farms
SmartOysters was founded in 2016 by Ewan McAsh and Philip Browning with the initial goal of ‘getting the farmer off the farm’ by digitally capturing each farmer’s unique farming practice allowing the delegation of tasks and scaling of operations.
SmartOysters is unique in that it uses a map based application to help farmers record and schedule stock movements, grading, drying service and repairs. Our app is focused on operations assisting farmers to navigate the day to day activities and making the job easier. In doing so, SmartOysters captures high value ‘farm practice’ data to further inform management and certify providence. SmartOysters is also designed to use sensor data to inform decisions for better management and drive responses in real time. We call this feature sense and respond.
'SmartOysters is like google maps for oyster farming'
SmartOysters is the next generation of farm software. Our competitors use traditional database systems and attempt to standardise farm practise, they are complex and hard to use. SmartOysters is adaptable and flexible capturing the language, schedules and activity unique to each farm.
We are the fastest growing company in the oyster industry with 60 customers located across North America (34), Australia and New Zealand (21), UK and Ireland (4), and the United Arab Emirates (1). SmartOysters plans to expand into other aquaculture sectors including mussels, seaweed and fin fish farmers and already have pilot projects with fin fish and seaweed farms.
We are currently raising funds via convertible note to continue to grow our customer base and expand the SmartOysters team. We are inviting investors - including current SmartOyster farmers to assist us in this next stage of company growth.
