In order to expand to year-round production, we are building a second 30'x72' greenhouse complete with heat, vents, fans, and drop-down curtains.
Farming with care for the environment is our number one priority here at Red Rooster Farms in Booneville, Arkansas. We are a small family-owned farm that sells certified organic produce, lamb meat, and eggs. We are dedicated to preserving the environment while producing the highest quality food for our local customers.
Our demand for organic produce is currently exceeding our supply! We are looking to expand our year-round growing by purchasing an additional greenhouse. With the spring growing season coming closer each day, this is the optimal time to get a greenhouse growing and paying. The greenhouse will be filled with raised beds and irrigation lines so that growing is manageable and productive.
Our Steward loan will be used to actually purchase the greenhouse kit and components, as the pad for the greenhouse is already complete. We have ordered enough transplants to fill the greenhouse with tomatoes this first growing season. Growing indoors will allow us to avoid some weather issues we have experienced in past years. This, in turn, will increase our profits and help to meet our demand for organic heirloom tomatoes.
In addition to paying for the greenhouse kit, we will also be refinancing a small loan to maximize cash flow. Ultimately, post-Covid, our dream is to establish a farm venue where we grow food for people to eat, we run classes on organic farming, and we give people the opportunity to connect with the land, their food, and each other. Please join us through our Steward campaign and come see us at the farm!
Steward visited Red Rooster in the Winter of 2019 and quickly got excited about the opportunity to help Allexcia grow her farm business and serve more customers in rural Arkansas. Allexcia’s farming approach is, clearly, to take care of the Earth and it’ll take care of you. Steward is excited to work with Allexcia to help her meet the market demand in her area and continue to grow the best tomatoes around.
