Overview

In 2018, East Fork Cultivars partnered with Steward to acquire 24 acres of pristine farmland adjacent to its original farm in Southern Oregon, the East Fork Ranch. This ranch expansion paved the way for East Fork's inaugural Farm Bill-compliant craft hemp harvest.

East Fork used loan proceeds to outfit the new property with drying and storage facilities, an efficient drip irrigation system, a plant breeding center, and a nursery greenhouse. The property allowed East Fork to become one of the first hemp farms in the country to receive USDA Organic certification.

In addition to providing additional acreage for cultivation, the new property has allowed East Fork to grow from a regional cannabis brand to a national provider of plant-based therapeutics. East Fork's hemp breeding program also allows other farmers to grow a diversity of resinous, flower-focused, medical-grade cannabis cultivars.

Use of Funds

  • Purchase 24 acres of pristine farmland with water rights
  • Redesign and reinstall irrigation system
  • Construct nursery greenhouse, kiln dryer, and climate-controlled storage facility to allow for scaled hemp cultivation
  • Create plant breeding facility to commercialize East Fork's genetic development program
