Meet the Business Owners
Circle Seafoods is run by Pat Glaab, Charlie Campbell, and Eren Schultz. The founding team brings years of experience in building, managing, and growing startup businesses. Pat, CEO, has engineered, designed, built, and operated more than ten processing plants in Alaska. Charlie was previously a GM of an agricultural company abroad and Eren has a background in institutional farmland investing. Their combined experience will be critical to succeed in their ambitious goal of revitalizing the wild salmon industry in Alaska.
Regenerative & Sustainable Practices
Circle addresses existing problems in the salmon industry by placing processors at the source of the natural resource - on the water. The mobile nature allows processed-to-order and enables a number of ecological and regenerative benefits, including:
Driving economic benefits back into fishing communities and reviving the salmon industry in Alaska, negatively impacted over the past several decades by increased farmed salmon competition.
Their alternative approach to processing cuts out inefficiencies in the supply chain and minimizes waste from processing.
Freezing the fish whole allows them to use 100% of the carcass, eliminating much of the waste and respecting the salmon as a limited resource.
Unlike farmed systems, which can be considered industrial aquaculture, Circle does not use chemicals or fish feed high in PCBs or Omega-6’s, and the wild-caught salmon enjoy a natural diet, reducing adverse health issues from biomagnification.
