Meet the Farmers
Clint and Sheree Crowe, passionate dreamers, driven
entrepreneurs, and devoted farmers, embarked on a remarkable journey.
Initially, their careers in technology, finance, health care, and
administration provided a good life for their children, yet a sense of
fulfillment eluded them. They longed to make a meaningful difference and serve
others, echoing Clint's words to "finish well." With Clint's profound
love for plants and Sheree's deep compassion for people, their shared dream
took shape—an idyllic working farm that would not only nourish with food but
also foster connections among individuals. However, challenges lay ahead,
including their mountainous residence, raising children, and managing demanding
jobs. Nonetheless, their dream persevered until 2017, when an extraordinary
discovery changed their lives—vertical aeroponic Tower Gardens. Suddenly, the
opportunity to cultivate abundant produce in a compact space, utilizing minimal
resources and time, became a reality. It was then that Sweetwater Urban Farms
came to life.
In 2017, Clint constructed a remarkable 2,100 square foot
greenhouse on a leased lot of less than a quarter acre in Cumming, Georgia.
Within this vibrant sanctuary, he focused primarily on nurturing lettuce,
greens, and herbs, showcasing his harvest at farmers markets and the greenhouse
itself. This year, Clint achieved further success by launching his first CSA
subscription, delivering exceptional results. Meanwhile, Sheree dedicated
herself to nurturing seedlings for Tower Gardens, hydroponic systems, and
traditional soil gardens. Her seedling business, ATL Urban Farms, not only
caters to the local community but also ships seedlings all across the United
States. These incredible three years of growth and impact have prepared Clint
and Sheree with excitement and readiness to embark on their next
endeavor—expanding and relocating their farm to Ball Ground, GA in 2021.
In addition to their farming pursuits, Clint and Sheree
focus on cultivating seedlings for hydroponic and aeroponic gardens while
educating and empowering home and business gardeners to embrace sustainable food
production. Their mission remains steadfast—to grow food for their community
and empower individuals to cultivate their own sustenance in harmony with
nature.
The tale of Clint and Sheree Crowe embodies the fusion of
technology, agriculture, community, and a deep-rooted desire to make a positive
impact on the world. Their unwavering commitment to their dream has led them on
a transformative path, where they not only nurture the land but also the hearts
and minds of those they serve.
In 2021, we made an exciting decision to relocate our farm
to Ball Ground, GA, to pursue expansion opportunities. This move has allowed us
to flourish in unimaginable ways. Currently, our operations consist of two
flourishing greenhouses: one dedicated to bountiful produce production and the
other serving as a hub for retail sales and unforgettable farm dinners.
Since our relocation, we have made tremendous progress. Our
farm has grown exponentially, boasting over 50 towering structures that house a
variety of crops. This expansion has opened doors for us to collaborate with
some of the most esteemed, chef-driven restaurants in the enchanting north
Atlanta area.
With our increased capacity, we have established a reliable
delivery system, ensuring our farm-fresh produce reaches these esteemed
culinary establishments promptly. It brings us great pride to provide the
finest ingredients to these exceptional restaurants, contributing to their
reputation for culinary excellence.
Our journey from the original farm to our new location in
Ball Ground, GA, has been transformative. The move has allowed us to nurture
our passion for sustainable agriculture and connect with our local community on
a deeper level. We are grateful for your continued support and are dedicated to
