Rossi Farms is a small family owned & operated farm, specializing in Non-GMO fed, pasture raised meats, and free-range eggs.
Funded on 01/23/2021
Joe & Bailey Rossi raise heritage breeds of pork, as well as meat chickens and turkeys, and have egg-laying flocks of chickens, turkeys, ducks & quail.
With their continued growth throughout 2020, Joe & Bailey would like to expand their farm for 2021, and open their very own, on-farm, state inspected poultry processing facility and butcher shop. This will allow them to both process their own poultry and offer their processing services to other small local farmers and backyard producers. There are few processing options in the area, especially for waterfowl and quail, and processing costs have been on a steep rise at larger facilities. With the additional challenge of COVID-19, scheduling processing dates has been challenging for small producers.
Because Rossi Farms knows the strain of being the "little chicken" in today's ever-growing poultry market, they want to offer cost-effective, humane, custom processing options to other producers in the area.
For future sustainability at Rossi Farms, the addition of a processing unit will allow us to provide our customers in the community the freshest meat possible for their tables. Additionally, it eliminates unnecessary transport & stress for our animals to other processing facilities outside the farm. With the animals being produced on the farm, through our breeding programs for poultry, waterfowl, and pork, this processing unit will be the final step in becoming a truly complete farm-to-table operation. This will also give other local farmers a place to bring their poultry and waterfowl to be humanely & ethically processed.
This unit will also be an educational opportunity for Rossi Farms' customers to truly see the start to finish source of their meats.
Joe and Bailey have a successful business with a range of pasture-raised meat and eggs. They are exemplary of a farm business that was able to flourish and grow because of Covid-19 and the increased demand for local food. Steward is excited to be able to partner with Rossi Farms and support the important work they are doing for their local food economy.
Hello everyone!
I wanted to give a short update, as we have been up and running for several weeks now! Our first processing day was June 1st, and since then we have been steadily growing our numbers and now have a weekly average of 300-400 birds between chickens and turkeys scheduled for the month of August! We have also processed a limited number of ducks for several small producers as well.
We learn new ways to improve every week, and work to keep improving every day.
None of this would have been possible without you, our investors, and I thank you so much! Please reach out if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.
We have passed our inspections, and have had a successful test run! We are now accepting customer appointments! Thank you everyone for all your support and patience along the way!! We are so excited to server the community!
Rossi Farms Processing is now live! Come check us out for updates as we move closer to opening!

Hello everyone! The support we have recieved on our project has been amazing, and we are so grateful! Since reaching our goal, we have been working very hard to get ready for opening our facility in May. We have been fortunate enough to find numerous pieces of equipment through auctions, and those savings allowed us to upgrade to a rotary scalder for our processing line, as well as a commerical grade vacuum sealer. We are still looking for a few final pieces of equipment as we move forward, but have made so much progress. Thank you again for all your support, and we will update again soon!
Hello Everyone! We are excited to share with you that we have passed the 50% mark of our goal. Thank you to all of you who have participated in our Steward loan and the amazing support from everyone!
We wanted to let you know that as we continue to raise the funds we are also moving forward with our plans so that we can provide poultry processing to our community this spring. We are doing our site preparation now. As soon as we reach our goal and receive our funds, we will complete the site preparation and begin purchasing our infrastructure and equipment. We will be using a refrigerated trailer and installing the processing and storage equipment for the poultry. We are also working with Ohio Department of Agriculture with our design and process maps so that we are ready to begin taking care of our community by May. It is an exciting and busy time for us as we move forward with starting this new venture. We thank you for all your support and look forward to providing poultry processing services to our community very soon.
Thank you everyone for your investments, we appreciate your support! We wanted to share our 2021 Processing Price Sheet with you, please find it below. As always, let us know if you have any questions!
