Meet Rossi Farms
For Joe & Bailey Rossi, what started as a small group of chicks purchased from the local farm store as a backyard hobby project, quickly grew to a large flock of laying hens that supplied eggs for themselves, family, friends & neighbors. From there they started selling eggs to other local customers in the area. Joe & Bailey soon decided to diversify their farm by starting to raise their own meat poultry and pork, much to the delight of their egg customers.
Joe & Bailey were already planning on expanding Rossi Farms for 2020, but when COVID-19 struck and most grocery stores were stripped bare, they realized an even bigger expansion was going to be necessary to fill the needs of their customers and community. Fortunately, most Farmer's Markets in the area were able to stay open for the season, with added safety precautions. They answered the call of local customers searching for locally & ethically raised sources of meat and eggs. All of their animals are raised humanely & naturally cared for, pastured or free-range, and fed only non-GMO feed.
Meet Partner Farm - Circle R&H
Another local farm, Circle R&H Farm, run by Bruce Dumler is partnering with Rossi Farms to enable him to expand his pastured poultry operation to meet the increased demand brought on by Covid-19. Bailey, Joe, and Bruce look forward to meeting the needs of their community and customers who want naturally grown poultry and produce to support healthy lifestyles.
Bruce Dumler began raising naturally grown produce over 20 years ago for his family. Starting in a small plot, it quickly expanded where he could provide not only for his family but also for friends and neighbors. The satisfaction of naturally growing vegetables and making his own compost led to him starting Circle R&H Farm to be able to bring these nutrient-dense naturally grown vegetables to his community. The Circle represents the regenerative approach to farming, The R is for Rudy his grandfather who was a farmer that used regenerative methods and the H is for his other grandfather who was a minister whose congregation was farmers. The desire to carry on their legacies was important to Bruce and the mission behind Circle R&H Farm.
In 2020 Circle R&H Farm planned to expand its offering to a greater community through sales at Farmers Markets. When COVID-19 struck, local Farmer’s Markets delayed opening until added safety precautions could be established. Bruce began to hear from customers that they desired to have naturally grown poultry, so Bruce began to raise small batches of pasture-raised chickens. The demand exceeded his limited runs of chickens. All the chickens are raised on pasture, fed only Non-GMO feed, and moved daily.
